As New Zealand’s largest provider of wills and estate administration services, we’ve been helping Kiwi like you to build and protect their legacies since 1873.
We are the organisation that takes care of people - Te Tari Tiaki Iwi
Public Trust is a proudly independent Crown Entity, with our independence guaranteed under the Public Trust Act of 2001. People are at the heart of everything we do and we aim to make what’s often a difficult time in people’s lives that little bit easier.
We help more people write wills each year than anyone else in New Zealand. We also manage the financial affairs for over 800 people who are unable to do it themselves, administer over 4,000 trusts, and oversee the enactment of 8,000 wills from the straightforward to the complex.
Each year we manage over 400 charitable trusts, which generate funding for interests across the board such as science, medicine, disability, and agriculture. Additionally, around 250 private training establishments use our Student Fee Protection service to safeguard their students’ fees.
Corporate Trustee Services (CTS) is a division of Public Trust which serves our business customers. We currently have more than NZ$90 billion under trusteeship and supervision. Our CTS offers some of Australasia’s best known institutions confidence and peace of mind with a partner they can trust.
Started by the eighth Prime Minister of New Zealand, Julius Vogel, we were the world’s first public trustee service organisation. Public Trust lives a proud legacy, rising from the belief that access to good quality, fair and trustworthy advice would make the lives of all Kiwi, better. A legacy that we continue to build on every day.
Our products and services are about more than end of life and we believe that building a legacy is about how we live every day, and the lasting impact we have on the world around us.
Our team is dedicated to empowering New Zealanders to create their legacies, no matter how big or small, straightforward or complex.
From our call centre staff through to top management, our people share a genuine interest in making a difference in people’s lives. We come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience, covering a range of specialities so we’re equipped to help in even the most unique situations.
With 24 customer care centres and over 400 employees across the country, we’ve got NZ covered. Whether you’re just starting the process and need a guide to talk you through, or you’re ready to sign on the dotted line and leave it with us, our team is here to provide the level of support you need.
Public Trust is governed by the Public Trust Board and managed by an Executive Team. Our board and executive team bring a wealth of experience and strategic expertise to help guide our vision - to be an organisation that takes care of all New Zealanders, protecting their wishes, interests, and assets.
