Public Trust is a proudly independent Crown Entity, with our independence guaranteed under the Public Trust Act of 2001. People are at the heart of everything we do and we aim to make what’s often a difficult time in people’s lives that little bit easier.
We help more people write wills each year than anyone else in New Zealand. We also manage the financial affairs for over 800 people who are unable to do it themselves, administer over 4,000 trusts, and oversee the enactment of 8,000 wills from the straightforward to the complex.
Each year we manage over 400 charitable trusts, which generate funding for interests across the board such as science, medicine, disability, and agriculture. Additionally, around 250 private training establishments use our Student Fee Protection service to safeguard their students’ fees.
Corporate Trustee Services (CTS) is a division of Public Trust which serves our business customers. We currently have more than NZ$90 billion under trusteeship and supervision. Our CTS offers some of Australasia’s best known institutions confidence and peace of mind with a partner they can trust.
Started by the eighth Prime Minister of New Zealand, Julius Vogel, we were the world’s first public trustee service organisation.
