Our culture

Purpose, vision and values

Our purpose outlines why we exist, and gives us a sense of identity. Our vision provides a view of what success means.

At Public Trust our purpose is to help all New Zealanders grow and protect the important things in their lives.

Our vision is to be New Zealand's first choice trustee services provider.

Our values are owned by all Public Trust employees, bond us as an organisation, and define who we are and how we do things...

  • Understanding - through understanding and empathy we put our customers first
  • Dependable - we will always be there, doing what we say we will
  • Proactive - we constantly look for new ideas and ways to help
  • United - we are one team supporting each other
  • Commercial - we act commercially with a heart.

Health, safety and wellness

Public Trust is focused on providing a health, safety and wellness culture that ensures the well-being of all employees, customers, visitors and contractors. We're so committed to this, we've recently achieved tertiary level under ACC's Workplace Safety Management Practices Programme.

To support our commitment we've chosen the health management plan, Activa. It is health management account that allows you to spend money on the areas of health and wellness that are most important to you. Public Trust contributes to your Activa card, which works just like an Eftpos card, and allows you to make purchases at more than 3,500 participating retailers and health practitioners throughout New Zealand.

For more information, see the Activa website (opens in a new window).

Employee engagement

We want our employees to be closely connected with the vision, values and direction of our organisation. We measure how well we are doing through our annual Employee Engagement Survey. Employee input is vital to creating a work environment in which everyone is engaged in building the future of Public Trust.

In our last survey, our employees rated Public Trust as a great place to work, with results well ahead of New Zealand and global benchmarks.
