The Stark-Brown Scholarships
History
The Stark-Brown Scholarships were established in 1983 by the Late Mr John Michael Stark-Brown who gifted funds from his estate to be held in a Charitable Trust for the purposes of providing scholarships to support students pursue in the horticulture or agriculture field. The Scholarship is managed and administered by Public Trust.
Eligibility criteria
Individuals who have previously attended Oratia Primary School who are or will be attending full time tertiary study at Lincoln University or Massey University. Mr Stark-Brown provided a special wish (but not limited to) that applicants had attended Oratia Primary School for at least one year and that they be studying in the field of either Horticulture or Agriculture.
The Scholarships
Scholarships will be awarded at a minimum of $5,000 for one year. Successful applicants have the option of applying to the Trustee for a continuation of the scholarship annually until the course of study is complete.
