Your pre-appointment checklist

To make your will, you'll need:

  1. Proof of address (e.g. recent utility bill or bank statement)
  2. Photographic identification (e.g. passport or two forms of other photographic identification). See the
    full list of acceptable forms of identification.
  3. If applicable:

  4. Property sharing agreement/Relationship Property Agreement (sometimes called a "prenup")
  5. Life insurance details (i.e. insurer, policy owner and approx. value)
  6. Family Trust Deed (if your family trust is not already with Public Trust)

Five questions before your appointment

  • Special gifts

    Will you make any special gifts, e.g. an amount of money, jewellery, a family heirloom?

  • Beneficiaries

    Who do you wish to leave your assets to? Find out who will be entitled to a share of your assets unless you make other arrangements:
