Ivan Richard Millet was an investor, a traveller and a science fiction writer who left his residuary estate to the TTTM Charitable Trust to establish a scholarship at tertiary level in the area of science.
The TTTM Charitable Trust is a Registered Charity under the Charities Act 2005, Registration No. CC60528.
The Trust provides scholarships to tertiary students studying science.
Applicants must be enrolled full-time or part-time in under-graduate or post-graduate science programs at one of the universities in New Zealand.
Preference will be given to New Zealand citizens, but applicants without this status will also be considered.
In recognition of the generous contribution made by the Scholarship donor Mr Ivan Richard Millet, the Trust will give preference in 2025 to applicants who have resided in Invercargill for a minimum of two years.
In 2025, the Trust will offer up to two scholarships, each valued at $8,000.
The Scholarship will be awarded for one year study. Successful applicants have the option of applying to the Trustee for a continuation of the scholarship annually until the course of study is complete.
Scholarship recipients will be advised of the funding terms and conditions.
Applications will be open from 7 August to 30 September each year.
