The Arthur Hopwood Charitable Trust was established through a Deed dated 20 May 1949, by Arthur Hopwood, a businessman of Palmerston North. The trust makes annual grants to charitable organisations operating within the boundaries of the City of Palmerston North and those operating within a radius of 32km around the Chief Post Office of Palmerston North.
Due to the small size of the Trust, the Board no longer calls for applications for funding. Instead, the Board will select local charities each year to receive a grant from the Trust.
