The Settlors of the Nova Charitable Trust sought to create a lasting legacy that would enhance the lives of others. To achieve this vision, they created the Nova Charitable Trust in 2008.
The Nova Charitable Trust is a registered charity under the Charities Act 2005, Registration No. CC38178 and is administered by Public Trust.
A grants committee was established following the passing of the Settlors.
The Trust’s primary charitable focus is assisting National Heart Foundation of New Zealand for projects, services and assistance provided by them in Timaru.
There is a provision to assist charitable organisations in the South Canterbury area of New Zealand (being the land comprised within the respective boundaries of the Timaru District Council, the McKenzie District Council, the Waimate District Council and the Waitaki District Council). At this stage, in addition to assisting the Heart Foundation’s projects and services in Timaru, the Trust will consider funding medical research projects undertaken by charitable organisations based in South Canterbury.
These guidelines apply to charitable organisations other than Heart Foundation of New Zealand.
Applicants must be a registered charitable entity.
People or groups benefit from the funding must reside in South Canterbury.
Funding sought must be for a specific medical research project.
