Kiwanis Club of Tauranga

Background

The fund was established by the Kiwanis  Club of Tauranga, after a public appeal of funds. The High Court approved  a scheme of charitable purposes on 30 January 1990. This purpose being, to provide or apply funds, or grants for or towards general charitable purposes, for persons or organisations withing the geographic areas of:

  • Tauranga District (Otumoetai-Bethlehem, Mount Maunganui, Te Papa, Welcome Bay, Pyes Pa and Papamoa); and

  • Western Bay of Plenty (Waihi Beach, Kati Kati, Kai Mai, Te Puke and Maketu).

  • Persons or organisations outside these districts may be included.

Granting

The Kiwanis Club of Tauranga is no longer operating. However the Trustee wishes to keep to the spirit of the granting as it was under the Club. Therefore, the funding will be applied towards:

  1. The well-being and development of Youth in the regions noted above; and

  2. To aid in the treatment and recovery of medical trauma, of Youth in the regions noted above.

How to apply

Applications are open biennially (2025, 2027, 2029...) and will be open from the 1st May and will close 31st of May in the funding year. The outcomes of the applications will be advised by the end of June.
