Early Childhood - Special Grant Round - T G Macarthy Trust

1 April to 30th April

An annual allocation of funds is approved by the Board for the Trustee to complete a special contestable grant round for licensed not-for-profit, community based Early Childhood Education, Care Centres and OSCAR programmes within the Trust’s region (old Wellington provincial district, defined as the area of the North Island which is south of Turangi and excluding Taranaki and Hawke's Bay).  View a map of the Trust's region here.

The purpose of the grant is to:

  1. improve a building or playground and/or,
  2. for projects that address health and safety hazards at the centre,
  3. to assist with new or replacement equipment,
  4. the purchase of books, computers and play equipment.

Application guidelines

  • The maximum grant payable is $2,000.
  • The Trust will call for applications annually from the 1st of April to the 30th of April. If the closing date falls on a weekend day applications will be open until 5pm on the following business day.
  • The outcome of the applications will be made available before the 30th of May.
  • Applications are to be completed online via ‘Smarty Grants’.
  • The online application allows applicants to in-put information/answer questions and supporting documentation can be uploaded to support the application.
  • The online granting system will acknowledge receipt of the application to the applicant.
  • Late applications will not be accepted.
  • Successful applicants provide an acknowledgment of receipt; and acknowledge the grant in their financial statements and annual report.
