The Toc H NZ – Bowerbank Charitable Trust was established by a Deed in March 1992. The Settlor is an autonomous body established in New Zealand to promote and act in accordance with the ideals of TOC H Incorporated in the United Kingdom by Royal Charter in 1969. Its affairs in New Zealand are conducted by three National Officers:
The Settlor received assets from the Estate of Lady Bowerbank, originally derived from Sir Frederick Bowerbank (the first Honorary Commissioner of Toc H in New Zealand), and used those assets to establish this Trust in New Zealand.
Funding eligibility criteria
The Trust is a perpetual trust where Public Trust as Trustee is given the objective and the discretion to use the income generated from the trust fund towards charitable purposes in New Zealand with special consideration given to:
*Organisations and activities that support and promote the welfare of youth in all fields of endeavour, including sport. *Organisations that support and promote the welfare of underprivileged persons in all age groups (but with preference being given to young persons) in all fields of endeavour, including sport.
Please note that granting is provided for organisations providing specific projects and / or programmes relating to the purposes above.
