The Estate of Arthur Hall Fletcher (‘the Trust’) is a charitable Trust established through the Will of Arthur Hall Fletcher, late of Christchurch, who passed away on 27th February 1912. The purpose of the Trust is to provide grants, as the Trustee sees fit, towards the betterment and advancement of Orphan Girls within the Dominion of New Zealand.
The Trust was Public Trust was appointed as sole Trustee on 9 October 1972.
The Ministry of Social Development, as per Part 2 Subpart 5 of the Social Securities Act 2018, defines an orphan as a child or young person who is:
18 years old or younger.
Single.
Financially dependent on a caregiver.
Whose parents:
Have died; or
Can’t be found; or
Can’t look after them due to a long-term health condition or incapacity.
This definition will be used for the purposes of this Trust.

Once you have received the application form, you will need to complete it and email it, along with supporting documentation, to us at the same email address.
Please note that, if we do not receive such an application by 31 August each year, we will invite three organisations to apply for funding. At that point we will not accept applications until the following year.
