John Ross, General Manager
John has over 25 years’ experience in the financial markets in both Australia and New Zealand. He has lead significant business units including 12 years as Head of Financial Institutions & Government for New Zealand’s largest bank. In that role he had responsibility for all aspects of risk management across a portfolio of clients including Fund Managers, Non-Bank Deposit Takers, Insurers, Broker Dealers, Global Banks and the New Zealand Government.
Ireen Muir, Head of Client Services
Ireen is an experienced senior corporate trusts manager with over 12 years in the corporate trusts industry. Ireen joined Corporate Trustee Services in August 2011. Prior to this, Ireen worked as a Relationship Manager with another trustee company in their corporate trusts business. Ireen has over 12 years’ experience in all aspects of all types of appointments, including KiwiSaver schemes, managed investment schemes (retail and wholesale), debt securities, structured finance, retirement villages and participatory security appointments. Ireen holds a BA and LLB from Victoria University in Wellington.
Elena Vinton, Senior Manager Client Services
Elena has over 10 years' experience in a variety of legal, tax and finance roles. Before joining Public Trust, Elena spent six years working at Fonterra as a Treasury Funding Associate. Elena has also worked as a banking lawyer in the UK and tax consultant at Ernst & Young. Elena joined Public Trust in September 2015 and she is a client services manager for a range of Auckland based clients of Public Trust, including KiwiSaver schemes, managed funds, retirement villages and participatory securities. Elena holds a LLB (Hons) from the University of Auckland.
Simon Sherpa, Senior Manager Client Services
Simon has over 7 years’ experience in the corporate trusts industry as a corporate trusts manager and supervisor. Prior to this, Simon worked as a relationship manager with another trustee company in their corporate trusts business. Simon also worked as an investment analyst for a successful boutique fund manager.
Simon joined Public Trust in April 2017 and is a client services manager for a range of Auckland based clients of Public Trust, including KiwiSaver schemes, managed investment schemes (retail and wholesale), debt securities and structured finance appointments. Simon graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor Arts conjoint degree (University of Auckland) in 1998.
John Stewart, Manager Business Analytics
John joined Public Trust in February 2018 and has over 30 years New Zealand and international financial services experience in various Corporate Governance roles. His previous experiences include four years as the Asia Pacific Regional Compliance Manager for a global insurance company and eight years with the largest Australasian insurance as Internal Audit Manager for NZ and the Pacific Region. John’s previous roles have also included Head of Risk and Compliance and Monitoring Manager at other Trust companies.
Ashley Kingham, Client Services Manager
Ashley has previous Corporate Trustee experience in the UK for a FTSE 100 PLC, where he worked as corporate trustee on a variety of bond and security trustee transactions, including cross-border RMBS/CMBS transactions, securitisations, syndications, EMTNs, insurance linked securities etc.
Prior to working as a Trustee, Ashley has worked in the regulatory division of a major French investment bank in the UK, and as corporate counsel for a Luxembourg Corporate Services Firm, where he serviced a portfolio of primarily US based clients on a variety of transactions varying from M&A to hybrid debt-security issues.
Ashley holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Auckland majoring in French and Political Science, and studied abroad at Sciences Po Paris. He also holds a Masters of Laws from the Europa Law Institute in Germany. Ashley is fluent in French and English.
Andrea Sinton, Risk Manager
Andrea joined Pubic Trust in Jan 2018. Andrea has been working in Risk Management and Compliance area for over 15 years, mainly in London and for the last 5 years was employed at ANZ in New Zealand as a Risk Manager within the Commercial & Agri division. Having worked across many different institutions within Financial services (Banks, Clearing Houses, ratings Agencies) Andrea has a breadth of experience Risk Management and Compliance area.
Stephen Kelly, Business Analyst (Auckland)
Stephen, Business Analyst, provides specialist services in reporting and analysis. His function includes analysis of reports, review of disclosure documents, checking compliance with trust deed and statutory requirements. Stephen joined Public Trust in April 2017. Prior to this he worked as an Internal Auditor for the Bank of New Zealand and as an External Auditor at Audit New Zealand in Wellington. Stephen graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (majoring in accounting and commercial law) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting (Victoria University). He is a Chartered Accountant.
Gladys Daguplo, Business Analyst (Auckland)
Gladys, Business Analyst, provides specialist services in reporting and analysis. Her function includes analysis of reports, review of disclosure documents, checking compliance with trust deed and statutory requirements, and supporting client service managers as finance business partner. Gladys joined Public Trust in April 2016. Prior to this, she worked as an Auditor for Globe Telecom (a leading telecommunications company in the Philippines) and for Ernst & Young Philippines. She holds a degree in business administration and accountancy and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Philippines.
Kirk Brennan, Business Administration Analyst Team Leader
Kirk had previously worked for Public Trust between 1985 to 2001 and brings 16 years of trustee experience. Kirk joined Corporate Trustee Services Auckland on 14 February 2016. Prior to this, Kirk worked as a Taxation Officer with another trustee company and then progressed onto being an Accounting Administration Manager for various other corporate organisations. Kirk is the Business Administration Analyst Team Leader and responsible for Public Trust’s Business Administration Analyst Team in supervising the processing of KiwiSaver withdrawals, receipt of supervision reports, completion of securitisation transactions, providing key analytics to measure supervision activities undertaken at CTS and various other administrative activities within the Business Administration Analyst team to support the CTS’ supervisory duties. Kirk is also part of management projects such as the implementation of Public Trust’s new IT system. Kirk has completed Executor Trustee Institute (ETI courses) within the Trustee industry.
Jordan Popole, Business Administration Analyst
Jordan joined Public Trust in November 2017, as Business Administration Analyst.
She is an experienced office administrator with over 10 years of experience in different sectors. Prior to joining Public Trust, her experiences include working in the education management industry, retail business and telecommunications.
Jordan lives in Auckland with her young family and is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Auckland
Martyn Ogilvie, Senior Trust Officer
Martyn has been in the financial services industry for over 20 years and has extensive experience in unit trusts, debt securities, KiwiSaver and superannuation schemes and custodial services. In particular Martyn specialises in superannuation schemes and works closely with the Senior Manager Client Services in the supervision of appointments in the Wellington office.
Harley Calder, Business Analyst (Wellington)
Harley has over 10 years’ experience in the funds management industry. Harley joined Corporate Trustee Services in February 2014. Prior to this, Harley was a product compliance specialist for Tower Managed Funds (which was later purchased by Fisher Funds) and was responsible for the product and compliance management of Tower’s unit trusts, workplace superannuation scheme, legacy superannuation schemes, whole of life and endowment products.
Harley holds a Diploma in Business and a Diploma in Accounting from the New Zealand Open Polytechnic and is partway through completing a BCA majoring in Finance from Victoria University of Wellington.
Timothy Fabling, Business Administration Analyst
Tim recently joined CTS as part of the BAA team on 2 November 2016, upon completing his tertiary studies. Tim is currently responsible for assessing KiwiSaver withdrawal applications, and various other administrative activities within the Business Administration Analyst team to support the CTS’ supervisory duties. Tim holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Commerce from Victoria University in Wellington.
Vicki Todd, Business Services Administrator
Vicki joined CTS Wellington in November 2015 as a Business Services Administrator. Vicki is responsible for all administration tasks for the Wellington office. Vicki is also responsible for CTS accounts receivable and payable in conjunction with Public Trust finance.
