Public Trust retains AA credit rating following independent ratings assessment
Media Release 20 May, 2020
Public Trust has retained its AA credit rating with a stable outlook, following this year’s assessment by independent ratings agency Fitch.
The AA credit rating is only one notch below that of the New Zealand Government and is higher than the long-term ratings of New Zealand’s major banks.
Public Trust Acting Chief Financial Officer Dan Devcich says Public Trust welcomes the results of the assessment.
“Our AA credit rating and stable outlook are a validation of our financial performance and the enduring nature of our role as an organisation providing essential services to New Zealanders.
“The results also provide an extra layer of assurance to our thousands of personal and corporate customers, particularly at this time of economic uncertainty and as we experience a global health crisis.”
