Thomas George Macarthy Trust
Application guide
Each year registered charitable organisations are invited to apply for assistance using the application forms available on this website. Only registered charitable or educational organisations operating within the Trust's region are eligible to make an application.
Grants are made to registered charitable organisations within the Trust Region that:
- help children and young people develop and realise their potential
- look after and provide dignity for older people
- improve the quality of life for the disadvantaged and marginalised
- provide essential medical and emergency services.
This may be through donations that complement other funding sources, or when alternative sources of funding are not available.
Who can apply
Applications from controlling bodies are preferred.
The Trust will not entertain applications from:
- individuals (directly or indirectly)
- sports organisations
- service clubs.
Applicants are expected to have made endeavours to raise funds independently. Any Government funding will be taken into consideration.
Applications for religious purposes will be considered only when the organisation is providing a full general secular education or a social service.
Registered schools, kindergartens, playcentres, kohanga reo, Plunkets and Pacific Island Language groups in the Trust's region do not need to submit an application as they receive donations on a biennial or annual basis.
The Toy Library Federation of NZ applies on behalf of Toy Libraries registered with the Federation in the Trusts region.
