Your Will appointment
What to think about
When you make a Will you need to think about what you own and owe, the people who depend on you, and who you might want to leave things to.
You'll also want to decide who should be the guardian for any children you may have - and who should carry out your last wishes.
To help you, here are some of the things that most people want to cover in their Will...
- Choosing guardians for children under 18
- Specifying who you'd like to provide for after you're gone, and set out any special gifts
- Setting out what sort of funeral you want
- Appointing an executor and trustee to carry out your wishes
Think about circumstances that could prevent you from having your first choice; who would be your second and third choice?
What to bring
- Any relevant information about what you own and owe (your assets and liabilities)
- The full names and addresses of the people who you might want to leave your assets to (the beneficiaries). Because your Will is a legal document it's important that everything is spelled correctly
- Two forms of identification; at least one that includes a photograph such as your passport or drivers licence
